This Privacy Policy covers the Service provided to you via greencheckverified.com.  This Privacy Policy describes:

  • What personally identifiable information we collect via the Service.
  • What personally identifiable information third parties collect through the Service.
  • How we use the information.
  • With whom we may share your information.
  • What choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information.
  • What types of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control.
  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

This policy describes how Green Check Verified treats your information, not how other organizations treat your information.  If you are using Green Check Verified in a workplace or on a device or account issued to you by your employer or another organization, that company or organization likely has its own policies regarding storage, access, modification, deletion, and retention of communications and content which may apply to your use of Green Check Verified.  Please check with your employer, team owner or administrator about the policies it has in place regarding your communications and related content on Green Check Verified.  More on this below.

Collection and Use of Information

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact a single person.

In order to use the Service, you must first complete a registration procedure.  During the registration procedure, you will be required to give contact information (such as e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number).  We use this information for the operation of the Service, to maintain quality of the Service, to provide general statistics regarding use of the Service, and to contact you about the Service.  Each registered user is also required to provide unique identifiers (such as, username and password, nicknames, avatars) and to provide answers to certain personalized questions (such as, mother’s maiden name) in order to ensure validity and security of such user’s registration. We also use personal information to help us create, develop, operate, deliver, and improve our products, services, content and advertising, and for loss prevention and anti-fraud purposes.

We may use your personal information to verify identity, assist with identification of users, and to determine appropriate services. We may also use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.  Because this information is important to your use of the Service, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.

We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve the Service.

Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information

Like most standard internet services, we use log files with respect to the Service.  This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the Service, track a user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information of each user for aggregate use.

We also collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual or business (collectively, “Anonymized Data”), such as:

  • zip code
  • area code
  • referrer URL
  • receipt date
  • products sold, including weight, description, category and quantity
  • price of products sold
  • taxes upon products sold
  • total paid for products
  • cash paid for products
  • check paid for products
  • debit paid for products
  • credit paid for products
  • payment type
  • medical or adult
  • sale type
  • compliance exceptions
  • compliance warnings

We may collect, use, transfer, sell, license and disclose non-personal information and other Anonymized Data for any purpose.  Aggregated data is considered non‑personal information and Anonymized Data for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.

If we do combine non-personal information or Anonymized Data with information which permits direct association with any specific individual or business (collectively, “Personal Information”), the combined information will be treated as Personal Information for as long as it remains combined.

Unless any user otherwise affirmatively “opts-in” (including, without limitation, electronic opt-in processed through the Service) to our use of any Personal Information of such user, or other proprietary data or information of such user (the “Proprietary Data”) other than Anonymized Data to which we shall have right to use as set forth above, we shall not use, provide or sell any Personal Information or Proprietary Data of such user for any reason other than as necessary to provide the Service.

Upon termination/expiration of the Service with any user, we shall destroy any Personal Information and Proprietary Data of such user (other than Anonymized Data to which we shall have right to retain and use as set forth above), except that we may retain copies for purposes of compliance with applicable law, which shall remain subject to the confidentiality requirements hereunder (which shall survive termination/expiration).

Cookies and Profiles

The Service may use “cookies” and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons.  A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but a user can usually modify such user’s web browser setting to decline cookies if such user prefers.  Some of our business partners use cookies in connection with the Service.  However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.

You may store information into a profile that is collected through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties to create such profile.  A profile is stored information that details your viewing preferences.  Consequently, collected information may be tied to the users’ personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the Service for the user. We do not use, store or have access to a registered user’s profile that may be created, stored and/or used by you nor do we have any control, or liability for, any use of your profile by you.  This Privacy Policy does not cover the individual profiles stored and used by you.

Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

Information from Partners or other 3rd Parties

Green Check Verified may receive information from partners or others that we could use to make our own information better or more useful.  This might be aggregate level information about which IP addresses go with which zip codes or it might be more specific information about how well an online marketing or email campaign performed.

Sharing

Legal Disclaimer

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served.  We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.  We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users.

Third Party Intermediaries

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for the Service.  The Company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.  We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as handling the processing and delivery of mailings, providing customer support, processing transactions, authentication (such as Google OAuth and Github Oath) or performing statistical analysis of the Service.  We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver their services.  They are required to maintain the confidentiality of a user’s information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

Service Providers

We partner with other third parties to provide specific services.  When the user signs up for these particular services, we share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services.  These third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Business Transitions

In the event the Company goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.  Users will be notified prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information.  If as a result of the business transition, the users’ personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection they will be given choice consistent with our notification of changes section.

Third Parties

The Service may contain links to other websites, and provides you with the ability to access, use and subscribe to third party applications (the “Third Party Apps”).  Please be aware that the Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites or Third Party Apps.  We encourage our users to be aware to read the privacy statements of each and every web site and Third Party App that collects personally identifiable information so that such user can understand how those web sites and Third Party Apps collect, use and share personal information about such user.  This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the Service, and we are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites or Third Party Apps outside of the Service.

Security

Protection of our users’ personal information is important to us.  When users submit sensitive information via the Service, their information is protected both online and off-line.  When our registration form asks users to enter personal information, that information is encrypted using encryption such as Transport Layer Security (TLS).  When your personal data is stored by us, we use computer systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures. We use SOC2 Type2 to ensure proper data security practices.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or billing address), or if a user no longer desires the Service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information.  This can be done from the user account page or by emailing us at support@greencheckverified.com.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this Privacy Policy, the homepage of the Service, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  We will use information in accordance with this Privacy Policy under which the information was collected.

If, however, we are going to use users’ Personal Information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email.  Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their Personal Information in this different manner.  However, if users have opted out of all communication with the Service, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their Personal Information be used in this new manner.  In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on the Service notifying users of the change.  In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.

Children

The Service is intended for users 18 years of age and older.  We do not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal information from children under 18, or equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, without verifiable parental consent.  If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 18, or equivalent minimum age depending on jurisdiction, without first receiving verifiable parental consent we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.  Children under the age of 18, or equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, are not permitted to subscribe to the Service.

All the information you provide may be transferred or accessed by entities around the world as described in this Privacy Policy.
