As the Product Marketing Manager for our fintech company specializing in financial products and services for cannabis operators, you will play a crucial role in driving customer acquisition, adoption, and retention through user journey management and targeted messaging. You will be responsible for owning the product user journey and ensuring that our customers have a seamless experience, from their first interaction and through ongoing adoption/expansion across all Green Check product lines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

User Journey Management:

  • Market intelligence – be the expert on our buyers, who they are, their challenges, their drivers, how & where they buy
  • Define and optimize the user journey within our cannabis banking marketplace to enhance customer onboarding, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Conduct user research and leverage/suggest the data analytics to identify pain points, user needs, and opportunities for improvement in the user journey.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including account management, sales, product management, design, and engineering, to implement changes and enhancements to the user journey.

Messaging Strategy and Development:

  • Competitive landscape – Know our competitors like the back of your hand; what they’re doing today and what they’re planning to do tomorrow.
  • Understand our buyer’s motivation and process, where they get information and how they make decisions, then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and a comprehensive messaging strategy that effectively communicates the value proposition of our marketplace to cannabis operators.
  • Create and manage messaging and in-app guidance to educate and guide users through the application process, ensuring they understand the benefits and functionalities of our products and services.
  • Craft persuasive and compelling messaging for email drip campaigns, tailored to different customer segments, to nurture leads and drive conversion.
    Ensure that sales understands all the value points and value propositions that are being brought to market in order to articulate that message to prospects and customers.

Customer Segmentation and Targeting:

  • Identify key customer segments within the cannabis industry, understand their business types (retail, cultivator, extractor, etc.) and related unique challenges and buying motivations.
  • Utilize market research, user insights, and data analysis to identify specific customer needs and pain points in each segment.
  • Develop targeted marketing and messaging strategies to address the unique requirements of each customer segment, ensuring maximum relevance and engagement.

Conversion Optimization:

  • Continuously monitor and analyze user behavior within various product analytics tools, conversion rates, and drop-off points in the user journey.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the conversion funnel and drive higher conversion rates.
  • Implement A/B testing and data-driven experiments to improve conversion metrics and increase customer acquisition.

Product Launch and Promotion:

  • As the liaison between marketing and the product team, you collaborate to develop go-to-market strategies for new features within the marketplace.
  • Create compelling product narratives, messaging, and collateral to support product launches.
  • Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure effective promotion and adoption of new products and services.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product marketing or related roles, preferably in the cannatech or fintech industry.
  • Deep understanding of the cannabis industry, particularly in the context of banking and financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and content.
  • Experience in user journey mapping and optimization, with a focus on driving conversion rates.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, utilizing user insights and market research to drive decision-making.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools and email drip campaign management.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
