WHO YOU ARE

  • You are a senior software engineer with seven or more years of experience.
  • You have an expert understanding of asynchronous programming in Javascript/Typescript in a NodeJS environment.
  • You have experience building and using REST APIs.
  • You have an expert understanding of data structures.
  • You naturally take into account scalability, security, extensibility, and complexity when designing features or systems.
  • You are familiar or have worked with serverless architectures.
  • You are proficient in working with AWS services, including DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, Cognito, RDS, data pipelines, etc.
  • You are eager to learn and apply new technologies, you work well in an agile environment, and you take ownership of the things you and your team choose to tackle.
  • You naturally take into account scalability when considering your implementations.
  • You are comfortable writing in YAML for CloudFormation stacks.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Be responsible for the design, implementation, test validation, and delivery of major feature and system additions to our RegTech platform
  • Be committed to delivering clean production-quality code backed by unit tests
  • Be responsible for orchestrating our Serverless backend in AWS according to best practices.
  • Be responsible for things like managing our data backup policies, disaster recovery, new environment development, and our security implementation at the AWS level.

HOPEFULLY YOU’LL ALSO BE FAMILIAR WITH

  • Consuming REST and GraphQL web services
  • Infrastructure as code on AWS; familiarity with the AWS API and experience working with the AWS SDK
  • Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, Jest, or Cypress test frameworks

EXPERIENCE

  • AWS: 4 years (Preferred)
  • APIs: 3 years (Preferred)

The Relationship Manager works closely with Green Check’s partner financial institutions to ensure the success of their cannabis banking programs. In many ways they are a cannabis banking concierge, working behind the scenes to make sure that financial institutions have the support they need to build and manage successful cannabis banking programs. 

To succeed in this role, you must be an excellent communicator, able to work with Green Check’s sales team to efficiently transition clients from the sales process to a live program.  There’s no one-size-fits-all playbook to follow so we expect you to be a strategic thinker with an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Identify key relationships in financial institutions to cultivate profitable relationships through support and expansion of their cannabis banking programs
  • Work in a flexible and consultative manner to guide financial institutions through creating cannabis banking programs tailored to their institutions needs
  • Creatively engage the cannabis side of the Green Check team to support the financial institution in growing their portfolio of clients
  • Support the client through change management and project management disciplines in order to drive programs to completion and success
  • Own customer relationships starting with the end of the Sales cycle, through Implementation and Support lifecycles
  • Serve as a key contact for financial institutions with Green Check teams, both for a limited number of assigned clients and as a point of escalation for financial institution support issues.
  • Support the relationship management teams efforts to track customer progress against financial projections and provide regular status reports to the client and Green Check 
  • Keep up to date with the changing cannabis and financial institution regulatory landscape and industry trends
  • Educate customers as necessary on the basics of the cannabis industry and their compliance obligations specific to cannabis banking
  • Aim to preserve existing customers and renew software services contracts
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively

EXPERIENCE

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with cannabis banking and/or BSA/AML compliance
  • Familiarity with the legal cannabis industry in the US
  • Experience in sales or customer service
  • Project Management or Business Development experience a plus

As Cannabis Banking Regulatory Specialist you will be an internal resource researching cannabis banking-related regulations and updating compliance resources.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Green Check Verified partners with banks and credit unions to develop cannabis banking programs that fulfill the compliance obligations imposed by their financial regulators, state cannabis authorities, and the federal government. In order to support these critical efforts, the Cannabis Banking Regulatory Specialist role is an entry-level position that supports all areas of the business, with duties including but not limited to:

  • Ongoing maintenance of the Compliance Rules Engine, the proprietary data set used by Green Check to verify state-licensed cannabis sales. As laws or regulations change this person will coordinate updates with the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Ongoing maintenance of Green Check’s compliance resources, monitoring for changes to state/territory cannabis laws and rules and coordinating updates with the appropriate teams in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the Sales team by providing them with the support they need to develop sales decks and collateral materials like slides about state/territorial programs rules.
  • Supporting the Relationship Management team by providing them with the support they need to build effective cannabis banking compliance programs for banks and credit unions, notably as a resource for cannabis-specific regulatory questions.
  • Supporting the Marketing team by preparing material like monthly regulatory updates and articles about what’s happening in the cannabis banking industry.

With time this person will become an in-house cannabis regulatory subject matter expert that other areas of the business look to for answers regarding state/territorial compliance. It’s critical they have the ability to parse “legalese” into language appropriate for internal and external stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE

  • An interest in and familiarity with the legal cannabis industry in the US and overseas territories
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment prioritizing tasks based on the level of effort required and their potential impact on the growth of the company
  • Comfortable using Excel and Google Sheets for basic tasks like importing data from CSV and creating charts and graphs

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • The ability to read and write Spanish
  • Familiarity with banking high-risk industries, including cannabis, and BSA/AML compliance obligations
