WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python/JavaScript/R, Hadoop/Spark, AWS Cloud Platform).
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Expert with SQL, including knowledge of advanced query optimization techniques, and have worked with both relational DBMS and NoSQL data stores.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
  • Specific experience building data visualizations using third party software (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, etc).
  • Experience working with metadata and data lineage frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong problem solving and analytical skills, and a passion for using data to solve business problems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, implement, and scale robust data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from a variety of sources leveraging AWS, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies.
  • Develop and maintain efficient data models and schemas to support predictive analytics and machine learning applications.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand patterns and potential predictors. Preprocess data, handle missing values, and engineer features suitable for machine learning.
  • Research, select, and implement predictive modeling techniques (e.g., linear/logistic regression, decision trees, time series forecasting). Evaluate model performance, iterate, and optimize.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and governance frameworks to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data assets.
  • Collaborate with multiple groups within the organization for data requests.
  • Translate predictive analytics results into actionable insights. Develop dashboards or visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging data engineering and ML trends.

Operations Associate involved in ensuring completeness, accuracy and timely processing of day-to-day banking operation

DESCRIPTION

This position will work directly with the Director of Banking Operations to ensure day-to-day banking operations are completed accurately and within required timeframes and cutoffs.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Remote check capture processing to include review of items for red flags
  • Review and processing of customer transactions such as ACH, Wires, and Cash pickups
  • Daily Positive Pay review and authorization
  • Research of activity for customers or internal resources
  • Compliance reviews of transactions, entities, and individuals
  • Interactions with third party vendors such as armored couriers, bill payment company, or sponsor bank
  • Communicate with internal and external clients while responding to support requests or while researching activity
  • Adherence to escalation process for exception items
  • Customer record set-up and changes
  • Quality control review of maintenance completed by peers
  • Daily reconciliation of transaction activity between ledger systems

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced, high regulated environment.

Candidates should have:

  • Critical thinking skills to analyze key information and make good judgements
  • Track record of consistency and accuracy of work
  • Experience working within a regulatory framework, particularly as it relates to protection of confidential client data
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Workspace products

Additional consideration will be granted for:

  • Experience in the banking or financial industry
  • Knowledge in BSA/AML compliance and KYC requirements

DESCRIPTION

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cannabis Regulatory Research Analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research on cannabis regulations, rules, and statutes at the local, state, and federal levels. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in producing well-researched and informative content (whitepapers, blogs, etc.) that analyze and interpret the complex regulatory landscape of the cannabis industry. This position will also involve customer service obligations, responding to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research on cannabis-related laws, regulations, and statutes at various jurisdictional levels.
  • Stay current with evolving cannabis legislation and track any proposed changes or updates.
  • Analyze regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements to provide a thorough understanding of the legal landscape.
  • Ensure that the compliance rules included in our software used by financial institutions to validate the legal provenance of cannabis sales is always up to date

Content Development:

  • Compile and synthesize research findings into clear and concise written content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal resources and subject matter experts, to ensure accuracy and completeness of written content.
  • Craft well-organized and accessible documents that effectively communicate complex regulatory concepts to a diverse audience.

Industry Analysis:

  • Stay informed about trends, developments, and challenges within the cannabis industry.
  • Provide insights on the regulatory implications of industry changes and advancements.

Customer Service:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from internal stakeholders, including legal teams, policy analysts, product development, and regulatory experts.
  • Address questions and provide clarification to external stakeholders, including financial institutions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for responding to common inquiries.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information.
  • Work closely with external partners, government agencies, and industry associations to enhance the depth and breadth of research.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or a work history in a relevant field such as regulatory affairs, public policy, political science, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated professional experience in research and analysis, with a specific emphasis on complex regulatory information.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality research reports, regulatory analyses, or similar documents.
  • Experience with cannabis or other highly regulated industries preferred
