Texas

The cannabis market in Texas is medical only with authorized use of cannabis oil containing up to 1% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for patients dealing with certain medical conditions identified by the state’s compassionate use program. The program is administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
As of September 1, 2021, House Bill 1535 went into effect which changed the THC limit for medical treatments from 0.5% THC to 1% THC and established institutional review boards to evaluate and approve proposed research programs to study the medical use of low-THC cannabis in the treatment for certain patients.
There are currently only 3 licensed dispensaries in the state: Goodblend Texas, Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation, and Fluent.

In June 2021, a survey conducted by the University of Texas found that the majority of Texans support legalizing marijuana in some form.
